‘Tis the season in beautiful downtown Port Perry to create some family memories, start a new tradition or carry on a tradition from your childhood. Queen Street turns itself (with the help of many volunteers) into a winter wonderland for both the young and the young at heart. Growing up in Port Perry we never missed the opportunity to watch or take part in the Santa Claus Parade then wait patiently in line to sit for just a few seconds on Santa’s knee.

4. Bakersville Animated Gingerbread Village at the Scugog Memorial Library. This animated village made by community members is a hit for all ages. Make sure to look for the gingerbread house made by Puckrin & Latreille Real Estate Group. We can’t wait to make the house with our girls…I’m sure there will be a tonne of sugar consumed while creating.

5. Nothing screams Christmas more then a visit with Santa. Why wait in line at a busy Shopping Mall, when you can visit your own Town. Visit Santa Claus on Queen Street in Port Perry starting November 26th  at the hut in front of the Post Office on Thursday & Fridays from 3-5, and Saturdays from 10-12 & 1-3.

Take time to celebrate the season with family and friends. Say “Merry Christmas” to a stranger, buy a coffee/tea for the person in line behind you. One Random Act of Kindness can put a smile on the face of a person who just might need it over the holidays.
