While the crisp, fall air is taking over and the weather is cooling off, there are many things to do in the Durham Region to beat the post-summer blues. The region in the fall is absolutely stunning, with the leaves changing color and many things to do and see. We are lucky to live in such a vibrant, outdoorsy community full of things to do.

With the summer heat subsiding, fall is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy some great events before the winter hits. There is lots going on in the region, and here are a few of our top picks.

If you are looking for something fun, unique, and outside the norm, then you definitely have to check out the Murder Mystery Night at the Scugog Shores Museum. As a guest, you will be immersed in a mystery filled with a great cast and mysterious clues in a mystery set in the early 1800s.

An excerpt from the event page:

“It is the early 1800s and the local settlers from Scotland and Ireland are astonished when the laird of the village, Colin Campbell, suddenly disappears! He was a tyrant who controlled everyone in town and had many enemies. His ghost has been seen in the village, and on the shores of Lake Scugog people have reported hearing his eerie bagpipe music late at night. There have also been reports of a monster in the Lake. Was it the strange lake monster or did one of Colin’s neighbours finally have enough of his cruel ways?”

We are already dying to find out how it ends! There will be prizes for correct guesses and tickets are $20, which must be purchased in advance.
