Port Perry & Uxbridge

R H Cornish Public School

Boasting the highest Fraser Institute score of Port Perry’s 3 elementary schools, R H Cornish Public School serves students from kindergarten to grade 8. As a school, R H Cornish is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive environment where kids can thrive – not just academically but also creatively and socially.

Quaker Village Public School

Just west of Port Perry in Uxbridge, you’ll find Quaker Village Public School. With an enrollment just shy of 400 students, kids enjoy small class sizes, ensuring they get plenty of time with their teachers. Quaker Village also has great academic support programs in place to ensure there’s extra help available when kids need it.

Port Perry Secondary School

Port Perry Secondary School (PPSS) is, as the name suggests, Port Perry’s primary public high school. The student body is about 1,000 students, so it’s big, but not too big. With a legacy dating back about 150 years, it’s no surprise that PPSS has a notable list of alumni including athletes, authors, and highly successful entrepreneurs.

Uxbridge Secondary School

One of the best high schools in Durham Region, Uxbridge Secondary School (USS) has a great legacy in Uxbridge. Beyond a strong record of academic excellence, the school’s athletic programs and sports teams have also had a lot of success over the years. USS also has just around 1,000 students.

Good Shepard Catholic School

Tucked away on the edge of Port Perry is Good Shepard Catholic School, which provides faith-oriented learning programs from kindergarten to grade 8. They are known for their collaborative and inclusive approach to learning, ensuring parents feel involved in their child’s growth and education.

St Joseph Catholic School

Another option for Catholic education is Uxbridge’s St Joseph Catholic School. Like Good Shepard in Port Perry, it’s also part of the Durham Catholic District School Board and serves students up to grade 8. St Joseph has a great fine arts program with a focus on drama and theatre – encouraging kids to be creative and expressive.

Fenlon Falls

Langton Public School

Located in Fenlon Falls, Langton Public School is a public elementary school part of the Trillium Lakelands District School Board. With an amazing score of 8.5 (from Fraser Institute), it’s one of the best-ranked schools in North Durham.

Fenelon Falls Secondary School

Fenelon Falls Secondary School (FFSS) may be Fenelon Falls’ only public high school, however, that doesn’t mean it’s without merit. FFSS was founded all the way back in 1827! That’s right – the school is about to celebrate 200 years of history!

One of FFSS’ core values is healthy living. You’ll find a large field and track used for classes and sports events right on the school grounds. There are also nearby tennis courts, which play a role in the physical education program.

Fenelon Township Public School

About 10 minutes south of downtown Fenelon Falls is Fenelon Township Public School, a quaint elementary school with a relatively small student body of just 262. Parents who work early (or late) will love its before and after-school care program.
